The generosity of CARWM members is providing a needed vehicle for Hand2Hand, an organization that provides backpacks filled with food for students to take home on weekends. Hand2Hand brings food to nearly 140 schools every Friday, and provides over 4,400 students with backpacks. The group reached out to CARWM with the request for a used vehicle that could be used to transport food to the various locations for distribution.
The CAR Cares Campaign was pleased to select Hand2Hand as the 2017 recipient, and is grateful to its members who contributed $25,310. Hand2Hand Director, Cheri Honderd, shared that the group is looking for a large SUV that can be filled with food and can pull their trailer, which they also fill. Honderd has several leads in locating the vehicle that will best suit their needs, and is looking forward to making distribution more efficient.
