Lakeshore Market Outlook Showcases Flurry of Activity

The Lakeshore Market Outlook was held Wednesday, April 29, in Grand Haven, and featured an excellent panel discussion on the growth happening in Muskegon and northern Ottawa County.

Panelists Trevor Friedeberg (Greater Muskegon Economic Development), Jennifer Owens (Lakeshore Advantage), Bryan Bench (Core Realty Partners) provided an in-depth look at business expansions, renovations, and new industries coming to the area. Moderated by Kent Mueller (Coldwell Banker Commercial), the information shared several positive job-creating plans that are underway.

Both economic development panelists discussed the need for additional housing units, which are a critical piece in the decision-making process of potential new operations in the area. Plans for the construction of several homes in the Muskegon area have been approved and infrastructure work has begun.

CAR Cares Campaign – Ribbon Cutting Beyond26 Van

A ribbon cutting was held April 22, 2026, with members of the Networking/Events Committee, who enjoyed the opportunity to see the new van purchased with CAR Cares contributions for Beyond 26. Dirk Bakhuyzen, Executive Director and Elise Mlnarik, Associate Director of Beyond 26, brought the van to the CARWM office for the event. Thanks to the generosity of CARWM members, over $30,000 was raised toward the purchase of the 15-passenger van. Beyond 26 works to find employment opportunities for adults with disabilities, and the van will help transport the adults to their work places.

April Walking Tour Showcases Office Culture

On April 16, 2026, CARWM members enjoyed a walking tour of the Acrisure office building in downtown Grand Rapids. The Acrisure team discussed the selection of Grand Rapids as its national corporate headquarters and shared several insights into creating a favorable office culture.
